Interim proceedings against striking port workers
WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao Ports Services (CPS) has called on all port workers to go back to work. CPS calls in a written statement for common sense to triumph.
The CPS also filed a lawsuit this morning to end the strike. The port employees are angry because they still do not have a new collective agreement. According to the employees they have been waiting for three years now and it’s more than enough.
CPS contradicts this and indicates that they have been negotiating a collective agreement with the unions representing the employees for ten months now. According to the CPS, these negotiations are not stalled and there is no talk about taking away existing benefits for the employees.
