Isla files lawsuit against citizens and environmental organizations
WILLEMSTAD – The oil refinery Isla has filed a lawsuit against the environmental groups and residents, who have recently seized 75 million guilders in the assets of the refinery. According to these citizens and organizations, the oil refinery has exceeded the permitted standard in 2013.
According to the Isla these organizations are using a miscalculation, which is contrary to what the judge ruled in 2010 in particular. The seizure is therefore unlawful.
Isla denies that they have exceeded the norm and holds the environmental organizations SMOC and Humane Care and the 25 residents severally liable for the damage caused by the seizure.
The lawsuit will be treated on Tuesday, October 27th at 14.15.
