KLM marathon success
WILLEMSTAD - The second edition of the KLM-marathon yesterday was a great success. Around 1700 people from 32 countries participated at different distances.
The marathon was won by the Finn Tomi Halme with a time of 2 hours, 50 minutes and 33 seconds. The first Curaçaoan to cross the finish line was Robbert Luttikhuizen after 3 hours, 20 minutes and 5 seconds.
The marathon went virtually flawless. The predicted violent rain stayed away, but the required coolness was present.
The marathon started at 4:00 in the morning. Except for the full marathon, there was also the possibility to run the half marathon, but participants were also able to choose between ten and five kilometers and two so-called 'trail' distances of 10.5 and 16.65 kilometers.
