KTK’s Manta in Port Willemstad
WILLEMSTAD - Recently the KTK’s tug Manta made a stop in Port Willemstad with its tow, Vitruvius. Manta is on an approximately 70-day voyage, including bunker stops, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to Colon, Panama.
Manta departed from Rio on April 14, 2015, stopped in Fortaleza, Brazil, for bunkering and arrived in Willemstad for fuel bunkers, ship spares and a crew change on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Manta is towing the backhoe dredger, Vitruvius, which is owned by the Jan De Nul group. The dredger is used for dredging projects around the world and is on its way to its next job in Panama. The total distance of the voyage is 8454 nautical miles. The length of the towing wire is 720m. Manta, which has a crew of six on board, continued to Panama on Sunday, May 17, 2015.
