Long queues due to flight cancelation InselAir; Divi Divi offers extra capacity

DiviKRALENDIJK, WILLEMSTAD - The outbound flights from InselAir again made long queues of passengers for the counters of the Curaçao airline in Bonaire. The ground staff, unfortunately, was not able to give much concrete information during the off-peak hours. This is according to the Bonaire news site Bonaire.nu.

The flights from InselAir have been canceled since yesterday afternoon when the airline's only operational aircraft was grounded, after the failure of one engine on the flight between Sint Maarten and Curaçao.

Because the other operational Fokker50 is also on the ground in anticipation of some parts, the airline cannot perform any flights for now.

Divi Divi Air, which now has 2 operational Twinotters with registration PJ-DVD and - shortly afterwards - the PJ-DVE helped ease the situation and flew as usual according to the schedule. Divi Divi today offered 100 extra seats on the route between Curaçao and Bonaire, but that does not fully compensate for the 150 to 200 seats that InselAir normally offers.

The flight schedule of Insel has been unreliable for weeks. Although the airline officially offers 4 return flights per day, on most days only 2 and no more than 3 flights actually take place.
