Maduro extends border closure ABC Islands

nicolas_maduro_barbozaCARACAS - According to a high official in the government of Venezuela, President Nicolas Maduro just extended the trade ban with the ABC Islands. It is not clear yet for how long the ban will be this time.

Last weekend, Nicolas Maduro announced the 72-hour closure of the border with the islands of Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire through the activation of the "Sentinel Plan for Sovereignty and Contraband."

Maduro even declared that his government has tried to hold talks with the governments of these three islands, which have not responded. This is the reason for the measure of the closing for 72 hours of the commercial routes. But according to the Curaçao and Aruba Prime Ministers, Nicolas Maduro and his government never made any attempts to discuss this situation.
