MarkStra Caribbean Initiates the Global Competitiveness Study for Curacao

Executives and Professionals Sought To Take the Executive Opinion Survey

cw-tamira-m-e-la-cruz-markstraWILLEMSTAD - MarkStra Caribbean invites executives and professionals from small and large businesses in Curacao to take the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Survey for Curacao online by September 5th.  It takes 25 minutes, it’s anonymous and it’s extremely eye-opening. The link for the survey can be found on the Facebook page of Global Competitiveness Index Curacao 2013. We seek to complete a sample that is representative of the business landscape in Curacao. Interested parties can also schedule an appointment to take the survey by calling 516-6940 or 767-3085, or sending an e-mail to yverna.huang@gmail.com.

Some time ago MarkStra received permission from the World Economic Forum (WEF) to conduct their Global Competitiveness Survey in Curacao. The company has now found the student Yverna Hu-A-Ng willing to do so as part of her internship and thesis at the Social Economic Faculty of the UNA.

A respondent noted last week: ‘If nothing else, the questions of the survey will force us all as executives, professionals and as a country to consider some aspects within our companies and our country, which we do not usually consider as contributors to competitiveness.’

Curacao will not be included in the official rankings of the WEF because they do not include economies as small as ours. The hope is that this effort will open doors. For now, we can fortunately count on the support of colleagues in Surinam and Barbados who have guided the survey before and study competiveness in the region, and of WEF itself.  The results of the study will be presented in Curacao in a seminar in the last quarter.
