Marriott employees demand answers; “Do we have a job after June 30?”
WILLEMSTAD – 56 Marriott employees represented by their lawer Olga Kostrzewski are still without answers from their employer. They say that apparently they are not taken seriously enough by their employer to receive an answer for their status of whether they will still have a job after June 30.
In a letter to the hotel management, Kostrzewski asked for clarification on this matter before last Friday. The lawyer indicated that the deadline of five o’clock expired without the employees receiving any answers.
“Once again the employees are not taken seriously and that is why this Monday we will discuss the next steps,” said Kostrzewski. The employees asked for further information on the future of the Marriott Curaçao.
As was reported earlier there were various reports about the closure of the hotel for the renovation of the building. The hotel property is currently owned by the Rif Resort and there is a project team working on selling the hotel complex to other investors. Once of the requirements is to renovate the property. This could mean that the hotel will be closed for a long period of time.
Marriott Curaçao has 250 employees of which 56 have approached the lawyer to assist them in this case.
