McDonald’s celebrates its 40th anniversary in Curaçao

Salinja 1-5 (2)WILLEMSTAD – This coming Friday, McDonald’s will celebrate its 40th anniversary here in Curaçao. There will be a tour with Ronald McDonald and also cake at all the restaurants on the island. Arcos Dorados, which is the largest McDonald’s franchise in the world operating in Latin America and the Caribbean, operates the restaurants in Curaçao.

“We are so happy to be able to celebrate and share this historic moment with the people of Curaçao and our customers,” Jennifer Poulina, Operations Supervisor for Arcos Dorados Curaçao said. “Arcos Dorados would like to thank the whole community of Curaçao who has been part of McDonald’s 40 year history and who has shown a great interest in our restaurants and have made us their favorite place,” Jennifer said.

The first McDonald’s in Curaçao opened its doors on August 16, 1974 at Dr. Maalweg in Saliña. There will be a short ceremony to cut the cake specially made for this ocassio at McDonald’s Dr. Maalweg this Friday at 5:30 pm together with Ronald McDonald’s and the Arcos Dorados team.
