Minister responsible for building Pietermaai Small
WILLEMSTAD – The building in Pietermaai Small on the kaya Wilson "Papa" Godett must be torn down. This is according to interested parties in the city area.
The building permit was found to have been illegally issued and was further dismissed by the judge during the construction. Nevertheless, the owner Jewel Investment continued with the construction.
Stakeholders want the former city park again restored to its former glory. Through a letter from their lawyer to the Minister of Spatial Planning, they indicate that they hold the Minister liable if that doesn’t happen.
In the letter lawyers from Henriquez Law firm, on behalf of their client La Rivera, to Minister Camelia-Römer, they indicate that their clients is fed up with the situation at Pietermaai Small. “After two court cases, which were ruled in favour of La Rivera, we will not tolerate this situation anymore. We demand that this building, which was illegally built to be torn down.”
