Mixed feelings local commerce about Sambil
WILLEMSTAD - Local business owners have mixed feelings about the new shopping center Sambil. The mega mall opened its doors to the public today at 10 am.
Some of these business owners feel that the Venezuelans should have never been allowed to build this mall. Others say that Curaçao has a free market and that the government should not interfere with it.
Not all of the retail spaces are occupied during the opening. 120 of the 160 stores are still awaiting a tenant. But this has not stopped the owners, the Cohen family, to open the mall for public.
