More people are coming back to the islands

TravelWILLEMSTAD – There is an increasing number of Antilleans and Arubans coming back to the islands from the Netherlands. At lease this number is more than those from the islands departing to the motherland in Europe. This is according to the figures from the Central Bureau for Statistics in the Netherlands.

In the first half of the year nearly 1500 people traveled back to the islands while 1000 left for the Netherlands. In total there are approximately 140,000 Antilleans in the Netherlands. That's more than a third of the total population of the Antillean islands. 60,000 of them were born in the Netherlands.
