Mostly dry summer in the forecast for the ABC islands
WILLEMSTAD - Mostly dry conditions have dominated since the second week of March over the ABC Islands with little rain over the islands. The forecast calls for the same conditions to continue through the summer (below average rainfall expected), worsening the current drought conditions.
From time to time, some tropical waves will pass near or over the islands but will most of the times not bring significant rain, an example is the inactive tropical wave that passed through this weekend over the islands, totally unnoticed as expected.
The El Niño, responsible for this weather pattern across our area, is only expected to strengthen, deepening its effects across the area. If you have plans to travel across South America this summer (winter there), here we post an image with what you should expect there.
