Music Association: “Discrimination against our local musicians”
WILLEMSTAD – According to the Curaçao Music Association (AMAK) apparently Mambo Boulevard took the decision not to let local musicians perform on their stages, but they do allow European Dutch artists to perform. “If this is true, then we really lament this. Mambo Boulevard is a very beautiful place, where there should be space for our local musicians to perform,” AMAK stated in a press release.
AMAK laments that the local musicians did not take the time to consult with them, but that they had to hear this in the media. “But we do applaud those members of our association, who consult with us internally when there are these types of problems. That’s when we can take action.”
AMAK also hopes that when they have their general meeting, that all members attend so they can discuss the problem with Mambo Boulevard.
In any case, AMAK will try to come in contact with Mambo’s management to see how this situation can be solved.
