New developments old market in downtown Punda
WILLEMSTAD - On August 25 this year, the Ministry of Economic Development, together with Fundashon Marshe, held a press conference about the new developments in the old market in downtown Punda, Plasa Bieu. During this press conference, the new director of the Fundashon Marshe, Roxanne de Leeuw was officially introduced. The future of the Plasa Bieu and Plasa Nobo (new market) were announced during the press conference.
An estimate was made in 2015 for the old market at the request of the Ministry of Economic Development. After this, the Ministry, under the guidance of the Central Purchasing Department of Shared Services Organization (SSO) on November 6, 2015, held a Public Procurement for Plasa Bieu. After the public tender for the project ‘Renovation Plasa Bieu’, a tender board was appointed. This board has met several times and presented a thorough analysis of the entire process and offers.
Ultimately, Legislation and Legal Affairs (WJZ) prepared an advice, which, after analyzing all the facts, the conclusion was drawn to strike the first tender and to proceed with re-tendering.
It is intended that this re-tendering is now being put in motion to recruit the right expertise for the project ‘Renovation Plasa Bieu’.
