Night shelters for homeless addict threatens to shut down

FMA picWILLEMSTAD - The night shelters at Fundashon Maneho Adikshon (FMA), with 28 beds available for alcohol and drug addicted homeless, threatens to close tomorrow. This is according to the General Manager of the Fundashon Meta Fahrenfort.

The work experience project was stopped by the Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Welfare stop without any consultation. It is the unemployed who receive welfare benefits and are employed at the night shelter for a small fee. However, they have not been paid since March 1 of this year. Some of them have even complained to the Ministry and the General Secretary.

Fharenfort is now talking to the ombudsman, Alba Martijn, but has little hope that the matter will be resolved quickly. This will lead to the closing of the center, because there can be no supervision without the employees.
