No economic permit for AVA Airways
WILLEMSTAD – AVA Airways did not get its economic permit to operate its flights. According to the Ministry of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning the airline does not meet the aviation laws. The Ministry announced this to the representatives of the airline in writing.
According to the Ministry a forensic investigation has been done to substantiate the authenticity of the company’s documents. This investigation has revealed that there are serious doubts about the truthfulness of the submitted documents and that one of them for sure is not authentic.
The ministry has filed a complaint to the Public Prosecution (OM) against AVA Airways for submitting documents that, according to the forensic investigators, are not authentic.
AVA-director Olivier Arrindell feels deliberately thwarted by the government. According to him, the forensic investigation has not been implemented properly. He wants a forensic investigation into the aviation authority, who asked him for five million dollars and also announced that in January he will re-apply for the economic permit.
Minister Suzy Camelia Römer indicated that she will not go into the accusations made by Arrindell. According to the minister, the decision to reject the permit request is based solely on the advices of several experts. There is no more advice to be given, said the minister.
