No more child births in the Advent Hospital

medicalWILLEMSTAD – There may soon be no more deliveries performed at the Adventist Hospital. The existing ban on caesarean sections is maintained. Normal births will be stopped by August 1 of this year. This is according to the Health Inspectorate.

Reason for the decision of the Inspectorate is the lack of a specialized department and medical staff at the medical institution. The Advent hospital had appealed the decision of October last year to ban caesareans but sees now that prohibition will be extended to all child deliveries.

The Advent Hospital is one of the three hospitals in Curacao and is part of the Seventh day Adventist Organization.
