No more competition on route Aruba-Curaçao

InselAirWILLEMSTAD - Aruba Airlines and Tiara Air ceased flying the route Aruba - Curaçao. InselAir once again has a monopoly on the route which is essential for the transport of passengers between the two islands.

Aruba Airlines recently announced that by May 10 they will suspend flights for the time being. Aruba Airlines also stopped its operations to and from Panama.

Aruba Airlines began in December 2015 with one - three times a week - operations between Aruba and Curaçao with an Airbus A320. The aircraft and the frequency are not a happy combination in order to successfully carry out the route.

Tiara flew five times a week on the route had to stop because of problems with a transponder on the Shorts SD-360 turboprop.

InselAir flies the route several times a day with a Fokker 50.
