No permit for Gaypride event yet; Winnie Raveneau (PS) against it

gay-pride-300x211WILLEMSTAD – The government of Curacao has not issued a permit for the Gaypride event of next Saturday at the Wilhelmina Square. This is according to one of the organizers of the event, Mario Kleinmoedig from the gay movement FOKO. He expects that this will happen by tomorrow in the afternoon. The first Gay Pride in Curaçao is a foretaste of the great Caribbean Gaypride that will take place next year on the island.

Member of Parliament for Pueblo Soberano, Winnie Raveneau has indicated that she’s against this event. The MP simply does not want Gaypride on Curacao. She has asked the church leaders on the island to take concrete action against this event. According to the MP, Curacao will have the same fate as the people of Israel if the Gaypride continues. She adds that the Government cannot be held responsible for the Gaypride coming Saturday.
