Old makes way for new
WILLEMSTAD - The work at the Stadium Ergilio Hato has started. Curaçao’s national stadium, located in the Sentro Deportivo Kòrsou is expected to get a new artificial pitch in the coming weeks.
But before the new artificial grass can be laid out, of course, the old one must first be removed. After that, the contractor will also tackle the substrate, so that the new field will have a good foundation. This will be funded from other Reda Sosial.
The new field is an initiative of the president of the Curaçao Football Federation, Rignaal "Jean" Francisca. This after Coach Patrick Kluivert and his players had complained about the deplorable state of the artificial grass during the World Cup qualifier against Montserrat.
Everything is now being done to ensure that Kluivert and his men can battle against Cuba on June 10, in the second round of qualifying for the World Cup in 2018.
