OM confirms: Emsley Tromp’s cell phone was seized
WILLEMSTAD – The spokesperson of the Public Prosecution, Norman Serphos confirmed last night that the Kingdom Detective Cooperation Team (RST) confiscated the cell phone of the President of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten Dr. Emsley Tromp at the airport.
Serphos explained that the accusations against Tromp are of such magnitude that several items had to be confiscated from his home. Because he wasn’t home, his cell phone could not have been confiscated. RST has its hands full sifting through all the items that have been confiscated since they are many.
The decision to start a legal prosecution has not been taken yet, Serphos said. Authorities are currently performing a preliminary investigation to determine if there is a strong base to start a penal case against Tromp.
