Operations halted at oil refinery for two weeks
WILLEMSTAD – Starting this Saturday the operations at the oil refinery Isla will be halted for a period of two weeks. The reason for this is that the Curaçao Refinery and Utility plant (CRU) will go through a major overhaul.
In this period, the CRU will continue to produce a limited amount of electricity, steam, water and air so the refinery can continue to supply products to the local community.
Isla also announced that they will use this time to provide maintenance to some of its plants. “This project will take place in a planned manner and will not generate any inconvenience,” said the oil refinery in a statement to the media.
