Pan-American Life Insurance Group commits to growth and giving back in Curaçao

PaligWILLEMSTAD - Following a successful week of activities which included the prestigious producer convention, President’s Club 2014, Jose S. Suquet, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG), a leading provider of insurance and financial services throughout the Americas, reiterated his company’s positive outlook for growth in Curaçao and across the Dutch Caribbean.

Suquet, along with more than 350 producers and executives from across the Pan-American Life organization arrived to Curaçao last week for a four day sales convention at the Santa Barbara Beach and Golf Resort. “The Pan-American Life family has enjoyed Curaçao’s hospitality and it has been a great opportunity for those of us who work directly with our Caribbean operations to explore the island and discover all that it has to offer.”

On Saturday, May 31, a group of convention participants took time away from conference activities to join Pan-American Life’s Curaçao based employees and agents for a morning of community service at the St. Joris School in Willemstad. Split into teams, they repainted walls, planted trees around the property and distributed school supplies while the children colored and enjoyed having their faces painted, “Pan-American Life is extremely committed to being an active corporate citizen in all of the communities where we do business,” Suquet said. “That means that we strive to have a positive impact on the people who live and work in the countries that we serve.”

Speaking at the 34th annual Caribbean Insurance Conference on June 2, Suquet described the challenges that the Caribbean insurance industry faces but remained adamant that with the right strategic approach, those challenges can be transformed into a profitable business. “The bottom line is sustainable and profitable long term growth,” Suquet stated. “For Pan-American Life, achieving that means staying true to our core values and commitments.
