PdVSA personnel not allowed to travel to U.S.A.
WILLEMSTAD – Employees of the Venezuelan State Oil Company PdVSA are not allowed to travel to the United States of America anymore. This was indicated in an internal memo issued in Caracas, Venezuela.
In the memo, the Venezuelan oil giant also stated that this measurement is for all the staff employed at PdVSA’s branches, including the oil refinery here in Curaçao. We spoke with the president of the union representing the employees, Angelo Meyer, who indicated that he knew nothing about the memo and was not able to confirm the report.
We also spoke with a staff member, who said that he doesn’t believe that they are not allowed to travel to the U.S. He has not heard anything about it.
The memo states that there will be consequences for those who travel to the U.S.
