Production rate water and electricity at an all-time low
WILLEMSTAD - The production of water and electricity has never been as cheap as now. That is not only because the cost of fuel, but also because of the use of wind energy.
This is according to the Director of the utility company Aqualectra, Darick Jonis. The total production of water and electricity cost in 2012, 308 million guilders. That fell in 2013 to 230 million and last year the water and electricity production cost only 198 million guilders.
Jonis stressed that it is not Aqualectra that determines the price of water and electricity, but the government through the Office of Telecommunications, Post & Utilities (BTPU).
