Repair and maintenance Emma Bridge
WILLEMSTAD – The Queen Emma Bridge, connecting Punda and Otrabanda for pedestrians will be closed for repair and maintenance. The Punda end of the bridge is in need of urgent repair.
Reason is a rotten wooden beam. The pontoon bridge has been struggling with these problems for a long time now. Last year the authorities did some major work to the bridge, but that was not enough.
According to the contractor, the repair and maintenance will take about two to three weeks. In the meantime, those who need to go from one side to the other will have to use the ferries.
