Rotaract Club of Curaçao presents RMHC with Cheque of 18,223.42 guilders
WILLEMSTAD - On Wednesday, June 29, The Rotaract Club of Curaçao presented the Ronald McDonald House Charities Curaçao Foundation (RMHCC) with a cheque of ANG.18,223.42. The funds were raised with the Finding Dory Movie Premiere that the Rotaract Club of Curacao organized.
Rotaract Club of Curaçao is a service club for young professionals ages 18-32 who recently contacted RMHCC to host a Finding Dory premiere in hopes of helping them raise funds for their new family room. “We feel really honored to have worked with RMHCC with this fundraiser and the Rotaract Club of Curaçao cannot be more excited to have presented RMHC with this cheque. Not only are we contributing and leaving a lasting impact in our community, but we are also learning a lot and forming lasting friendships along the way. Even though we organized this event, we couldn’t have done it without RMHCC’s help, a lot more is achieved when we work together.” says Hannah Petit, president of the Rotaract Club of Curaçao.
Through RMHCC’s core program in the Sint Elisabeth Hospital, the Ronald McDonald Family Room provides stability and vital resources to families keeping them close in difficult times. The programs RMHCC develop are a vital part of the healthcare continuum and give children and families the time they need to heal and cope better together. “We are so grateful to Rotaract Club of Curaçao for providing us a helping hand with volunteers and of course with raising ANG 18,223.42 with the Finding Dory premiere! The responses after the premiere were very heartwarming and we couldn't thank Rotaract enough for having organized such a wonderful event!” said Claudia Rigaud, Executive Director of the Ronald McDonals House Charities Curaçao Foundation.
The Finding Dory premiere was held at the Cinemas Renaissance Curaçao on Thursday, June 16th and all 425 tickets were sold out in 2 days! At the event, children had the opportunity to take pictures with a child-lifesize Dory and also an authentic Finding Dory frame. Ticket holders also had the opportunity to win a Finding Dory painting made by artist Herta Parabirsing-BalentinaThe purpose of this fundraiser is to raise funds for the RMHCC’s family, room in the new hospital. The ANG.18,223.42 gathered with this event will go directly to RMHCC in hopes of building a more safe, hygienic, friendly and stable environment for the children in the HNO.
