Sambil strengthens ties with private sector
In pursuit of a better future for Curaçao
WILLEMSTAD – The management of the Sambil Curaçao shopping mall is very serious in their intentions to work with partners from the private and public sectors to provide content to the objective of getting Curaçao ready for a prosperous future. In that respect Sambil held a casual meeting in the mall for representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, the VBC, the Adeck (small businesses), DMO (Punda) and SKO (Otrobanda) this week.
What also made the atmosphere so pleasant was that there were no speeches. In a real informal gathering, management and staff of Sambil were able to get acquainted with the representatives of the various umbrella organizations. With them and others from the Curaçao community, Sambil wants to pick up the challenge to work on the future of Curaçao. This is why so much emphasis is placed on activities and attractions for the youth of today.
More information was given on the development of the shopping center, on the plans for the near future and how Sambil wants to tie in with other interest groups. This also includes neighborhood associations, starting with those of Veeris and Wishi / Marchena as nearest neighbors. Additionally Sambil will gradually give even more substance to the idea of being a venue for other events, such as in the areas of music, sports, cultural manifestations, etc.
The guests had ample opportunity to ask questions and to take a look in the mall which within not too long will be completely full. Almost every week new businesses are opened where first the sign ‘coming soon’ had hung.
