Selikor employees on strike
WILLEMSTAD - Dozens of employees of the garbage disposal company Selikor, working within the company's operational departments have suspended their work this morning whilst agglomerating in front of the Selikor building in Parera. This was confirmed by the Selikor director Wesley Kook.
At that time it was for Kook still unclear what the reason of the strike was. “There has been no discussion with the trade unions and management, I am now waiting to find out what this is all about,” said the director.
The operational divisions in the company consist of the street sweeping services and transportation to the landfills. Kook also said that there is a total of 150 employees within the operations department, but the group of employees who laid down their work today, was smaller than the total number.
