SMOC: ‘Isla exceeds standard sulfur dioxide emissions again’

WILLEMSTAD - Isla Refinery has once again exceeded the World Health Organization (WHO) standard for emissions of sulfur dioxide last week. This is according to Arjan Linthorst of the environmental organization SMOC. There was a peak measured on April 3. "This is consistent with the complaints of local residents," the organization said.

In addition to sulfur dioxide emissions, there is also an increased emission of particulate matter measured.
