Starting next year, less food packages

foodbankWILLEMSTAD – Food Bank begins to feel the negative effects of the drying up of the AMFO subsidy tap, two years ago.

This month, it was the last time that the organization was able to make 300 food packages. Starting next month, only 100 families have access to this form of aid. In contrast, the number of families in need continues to grow and the Food Bank is the only institution that provides this immediate help.

Mylene Testing, president of the Food Bank, says that the organization has the hope that this kind of poignant distress will ever be dispelled. It is important, according to Testing, that society realizes that this kind of assistance cannot be permanent, but only a temporary means to assist people.
