Stores too dirty to sell meat
WILLEMSTAD - Curacao is at risk because of poor treatment of meat in supermarkets and mini markets, especially the Asian shops. This is according to Arnold Dwarkasing of the Meat Inspection Services.
Many shops lack hygienic conditions, Dwarkasing said.
The employees at these shops do not know how to deal with meat. “They don’t have the knowledge of meat processing. The Meat Inspection Services monitors and regularly closes stores that do not have their places in order.
The Service is now working on a special sanitary code. Once that’s done Dwarkasing and his team will give information to the supermarkets ant the mini markets.
