Stricter rules for pharmacists

svb buildingWILLEMSTAD – Starting January 1, 2014, the public insurer, the Social Insurance Bank (SVB), will intensity its inspection on the invoices sent by the pharmacists.

If a (family) doctor has not completely filled out the prescription for a drug, the insurer will not pay the pharmacist. This was indicated in a letter sent by the SVB to the all pharmacists. In fact this regulation already existed, but the SVB will be tougher now in its enforcement. Data that must appear on the prescriptions are the full name of the doctor and the so called ‘unicode’. Of course, the patient is the victim of a poorly filled prescription.
