Superintendent Wernet suspended for suicide Pretu

WernetWILLEMSTAD – Superintendent of police, Marlon Wernet was sent on mandatory leave. This is according to a declaration by the Minister of Justice, Nelson Navarro this morning during the public meeting in Parliament which is currently still in progress.

Wernet is not allowed to enter the police headquarters nor any police stations until the investigation into the suicide of the key suspect in the murder case of the late Helmin Wiels is completed. The investigation will have to identify how Pretu was able to commit suicide in his cell in Barber.

The police force announced today that they will not accept this action against the superintendent of police and will strike if this continues.
