SVB cannot meet pharmacists’ demands
WILLEMSTAD – The Social Insurance Bank (SVB) cannot accommodate the request of the pharmacists to double the fee per prescription item.
The pharmacists sounded the alarm earlier because they say that they are barely keeping their heads above water with the seven guilders that the SVB is now paying per drug or medical product. The pharmacists indicated this in an open letter.
The problem is acute, especially now that civil servants are also covered by the basic insurance costs and the same dispensing fee also applies to them. The Social Insurance Bank has now informed that they have no influence on the reimbursement. And even if the SVB had that influence, they don’t have the funds to cover it.
