Taams gets more breathing space
WILLEMSTAD – The embattled Taams Clinic has received more breathing space to get out of its financial crisis by attracting new investors.
The court decided yesterday to extend the deferment of payment period. The meeting of all the creditors will not take place on June 26 of this year instead of at the end of this month. This was announced by the trustee, Paul van de Laarschot in an advertisement.
The Taams’ Director, Earl Esseboom said that the trustee can advocate for an extension if he sees that here is reasonable hope than new investors can be attracted definitively.
There is interest from two foreign investors, according to Esseboom. Another case is a possible evacuation of the premises of the clinic and an auction held by main creditor Orcobank. But even if those lose their patience on the progress of the negotiations, then there is still a period of five to six weeks between the announcement and the effective implementation of the auction.
