Taams request loan to improve surgery rooms

Taams ClinicWILLEMSTAD – The Taams clinic here in Curacao wants to apply for a loan from a bank to improve their surgery rooms. The clinic was reprimanded last year August by the Health Care Inspectorate. Reason for this was that both the air ventilation and the hygiene were substandard. This is why they are no longer allowed to perform surgeries with high risk of infection.

The clinic has been wanting to upgrade their surgery rooms for a while now and has asked permission from the Government to place a temporary mobile surgery room. But there was no response to this request. Director Earl Esseboom hopes that they will get clarification on the loan. If the request is approved then the surgery room will be closed for a month so they can make the necessary improvements.
