Takeover talks on Giro Bank
WILLEMSTAD - The Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS) is in talks with various parties about the future of the Giro Bank. This is according to the President of the CBCS, Emsley Tromp during the recent press conference on the annual report 2014 of the Central Bank.
The Giro Bank has been under the supervision of the Central Bank since the end of 2013. According to Tromp there will be more clarity by the end of this year on the party that will take over the Giro Bank.
The Court of First Instance of the island ruled in December 2013 on the emergency regulations in respect to the bank because of developments that have led the solvency of Giro Bank to come under great pressure.
A management team appointed by CBCS, has now the daily management of the bank.
