Tax Collector shuts down 19 shops and mini-markets
WILLEMSTAD - The tax authorities shut down 19 Chinese shops and mini-markets this week. One of the reasons for this measure is that they did not pay their sales tax. Those that were caught for the first time had to close their doors for three days. For the second timers, the punishment is a whole month.
Those who are repeaters can expect to have their business shut down for a whole year. But this was not the case under the 19 shops and mini-markets this time.
Detecting those who evade this tax is relatively easy, because they usually don’t have the special cash register. This cash register is issued by the Tax Department and is mandatory.
