TEDx Curaçao 2016 announces second round of speakers
WILLEMSTAD - At TEDx Curaçao, our mission is to seek out people with ideas worth spreading. In the spirit of this year’s conference theme, Bridging the Gap, we have curated a lineup of speakers and performers whose personal stories and professional achievements will expose you to thrilling new perspectives, and evoke powerful emotion.
TEDx Curaçao is pleased to announce the second round of speakers for TEDx Curacao 2016:
- Cheraldine Osepa is a certified Laughter Yoga teacher born and raised on Curacao. In 2010 Cheraldine became the Director of the Cultural Department of the island of Curacao. She started the Ubuntu Wellness Center in Curacao and continues this work today in her practice in Delft in the Netherlands. Cheraldine will present a tool she used to bridge her inner gap and made her able to enjoy professional flexibility, and personal stability.
- Thomas de Windt; makes and designs orthopedic devices to help people function again after impairment or amputation of (parts of) their musculoskeletal system or to correct growth-development in children. Thomas will talk about one of the complications of diabetes, namely amputation of a leg, and the unique possibilities we have on Curaçao to quickly restore function.
- Matt Weinstein is an American community and economic development consultant whose work focuses on community engagement and the revitalization of post-industrial cities. He has worked for a number of public-sector entities over his career. Matt will be offering an informed outsider's perspective on many of the challenges ‘Pais Kòrsou’ faces six years after 10/10/10, and his thoughts on how a tiered, representative system of local government could help advance social equity, improve civic capacity, and create a more effective system of governance, in Willemstad and across the island.
- Kelly James is an expert sales coach and business consultant who has worked extensively with Fortune 500 companies throughout his career. Kelly helps shy introverts conquer their fear of selling by teaching them effective sales systems and customer relationship building strategies. In Kelly's TEDTalk he will illustrate that bridging the gap between who we are and who we dream of being begins with a choice and is followed by simple actions that we all can take.
