“The first music award for Caribbean artists which will take place in the Caribbean!”

musicWILLEMSTAD - This coming December 23rd Skempi will be launching its first ever Caribbean Music Awards. This will take place in collaboration with branding partners Maduro & Curiel’s Bank and UTS and will be sponsored by SMS Attorneys and Prins Bernhard Fonds.

The spectacular awards show will be held in Curaçao at the Cinemark Theater in Sambil. There will be a total of nine awards: Best Upcoming Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration of the Year, Legend Award, Best Song of the Year, Best Female Artist of the Year, Best Male Artist of the Year, Most Popular Band of the Year, Best Video of the Year and Best Album of the Year. The awards will go to the artists with the most listens and likes on the Skempi website, with the exception of the Best Video of the Year and the Best Album of the Year awards for which the winners will be determined through a voting process.

The awards will aptly represent what has captivated the public the most this past year. Among the nominees for Best Song of the Year for example will be “Dushi Bida” by Jeon ft. Ataniro, “No Bai” by Gentz ft. Randy Leroy, “Reina di Pordon” by Buleria & Izaline Calister, and “E Sekreto” by ERA Outentiko. On the website you will find a list of the rest of the nominees.

The Caribbean artists will of course be the focal point of this night of celebration of Caribbean music. The Skempi team feels this momentous event will be a great platform to give them even more exposure.
