Tugboat Company calls on motorists on Juliana Bridge to stop throwing glass bottles
WILLEMSTAD - Employees of tugboat company KTK call on motorists using the Queen Juliana Bridge to stop throwing glass bottles off the bridge.
Regularly people throw these glass bottles out the window when they are driving over the bridge. But they forget that the tugboats are docked right under the bridge. There are also employees of the company walking around on the dock.
These employees do wear helmets. But there is no helmet strong enough against a bottle thrown from a 55 meters high bridge falling at a speed of nearly 200 km per hour. Even if the bottle doesn’t hit someone, when it hits the floor, it can break and that could have serious consequences for the employees.
