Two companies interested in operating fast ferry
WILLEMSTAD - There are two companies interested in operating a so-called fast ferry between the islands and if everyone cooperates it can sail within a year.
This is according to transition mediator Ton Jansen Icasus. It seems unlikely that the ferry will be already operational next year because several requirements must be met before this is possible. The transition mediator takes no notice of the negative comments in the press after the feasibility study was released.
According to him, a fast ferry is still profitable and a crossing to Bonaire for about 80 dollars per adults is certainly a good rate. He also believes in this project because there are great gain and economic benefits for the ABC-Islands.
