Two hundred thousand collected at One Love SXM

One-Love-SXMWILLEMSTAD - A major fundraising took place in Curaçao to help the people in St. Maarten. In total, two hundred thousand euros were collected.

Under the name, ‘One Love SXM’, radio and television stations worked together to collect funds. At the Brionplein in Otrabanda, Willemstad, artists gave their all in a beautiful performance for the charity.

Insurers estimate the damage caused by Hurricane Irma to St. Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius at about one and a half billion euros. A collective action in the Netherlands brought about 13 million euros on Friday.

The money goes to the Red Cross and is used for emergency relief and reconstruction of St. Maarten.
