US warns travelers for Curaçao in connection with Zika virus
WASHINGTON, WILLEMSTAD - The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has put Curaçao on the warning list of countries where Zika prevails. The list includes countries where travelers are advised to take precautions. It is not a negative travel warning.
In the Caribbean there are now nine countries on the list, including the French side of St. Maarten, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Furthermore, most of South and Central America are part of the risk areas.
The CDC website contains general information about common diseases in Curaçao since Monday and also that there is Zika. Curaçao is on warning level 2, which means that extensive precautions are recommended.
