VAE introduces 1 guilder fee again

medicine_10-4-09WILLEMSTAD – Anyone who is in possession of a Basic Health Insurance (BVZ) card must, per today, pay a contribution of 1 guilder per medication when they pick up prescriptions. This was reported by the Association of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Owners (VAE).

The VAE has been in consultation with Health Minister Ben Whiteman for some time now about the height of the dispensing fee. The association believes that the proposed fee of 7 guilders is not enough for a good supply of medicines. Therefore, the VAE starts today with the collection of a mandatory personal contribution of one guilder per prescription.
