VBC: Government not considering national dialogue results

curacao-willemstadWILLEMSTAD – The Business Association Curaçao (VBC) is very disappointed about the plans to amend the Ordinance AOW General Retirement Insurance and General Widows and Orphans Insurance AWW. This was stated by VBC in a press release.

According to the association, the Government has ignored most points agreed on in the National Dialogue. Of the eight specific points there are only two included in the amendment. Thus, during the dialogue between employers, employees and the Government, the parties agreed that the premium for disability insurance will increase from thirteen to fifteen percent and half percent would be paid by the employer and half percent by the employees. In the current proposal, the two percent increase will be paid in full by the employer. The VBC calls this disproportionate; employers already have enough trouble with aggravating measures.
