Venezuela asks Curacao to hand over bag from disappeared aircraft

WILLEMSTAD – The Criminal Prosecution in Venezuela asked Curacao authorities to hand over a bag that belonged to one of the passengers from a small plane that went missing on January 4, 2012 in which the Italian designer Vittorio Missoni was traveling. Nothing was heard from the five passengers since that aircraft took off from Los Roques islands off the coast of Venezuela.

Ten days ago the bag was found by a German tourist on the rocky coast of the Dutch island. The baggage was owned by an Italian who originally was going to fly with the crashed aircraft. After the German tourist had contacted him, the owner of the bag called the police in Curacao.

Los Roques is located at about 300 km east of Curacao and it’s were the plane took off to set course to the Venezuelan capital Caracas.
