Venezuela crisis still has no effect on Insel Air
WILLEMSTAD - The crisis in Venezuela has no direct effect on the operations of the local aviation company Insel Air. This is according to the Director of International Affairs, Edward Heerenveen.
The Director indicated that all flights to the various destinations in the South American country are on schedule. However, InselAirs now makes use of smaller aircrafts. One of the reasons for this measure is because of the declining number of Venezuelan passengers. It is harder for Venezuelans to travel nowadays.
Mr. Heerenveen also said that the conversion of Bolivars is going relatively well. The airline did have problems in the past with the payment, or the conversion to useful dollars, of their earned money in Venezuela.
InselAir operates flights to Caracas, Valencia, Las Piedras, Barquisimeto and Maracaibo.
